How to stay connected with ~200 Lake Julia residents and users through our Google Group.
Overview
The Lake Julia Association uses a Google Group email list called "lakejuliapeople" to stay connected with lake residents and regular users — currently around 200 people. The group serves two purposes: it's how we communicate as a community, and it's the access mechanism that protects private content on this site (like the resident directory) from the general public. Rather than building a separate login system, we use Google Group membership as a lightweight privacy layer — only verified members can view restricted materials.
Messaging has been infrequent and the list has never been abused. Membership is open to anyone who regularly uses Lake Julia property, including family members, grown children of owners, and friends who visit regularly. If you know someone who should be included, encourage them to reach out.
Messages sent to lakejuliapeople@googlegroups.com go to approximately 200 people. Use this address thoughtfully, and be careful with "Reply All" when responding to list messages.
Getting Access
Joining is straightforward — just four steps, and most people are already halfway there:
Go to accounts.google.com and try signing in with your email. If it works, you're already set for step 2. If not, creating one is free and takes about two minutes.
Using the List
If you're a member, send a message to the entire list by emailing:
lakejuliapeople@googlegroups.com →Access the group website to update your display name, view past messages, or remove yourself from the list.
Group Website →Group membership — combined with being logged into the matching Google account — grants access to restricted materials on this site, including the resident directory.
Resident Directory →Restricted Materials
Certain documents, directories, and images on this site are restricted to group members. To access them you must be both:
If you believe you should have access but can't view restricted materials, contact the administrator — the group may have a different email address on file for you.
