Pre-1930
The earliest documented cabin on Lake Julia dates to 1910 ("Piney Woods" at the boat landing), followed by the "Point House" in 1912. Building materials were transported across the frozen lake from the Chicago & Northwestern railroad line.
Additional records from this period are sought. If your family has documents or photos predating 1930, please share them with the administrator.
1930s
The CCC operated across northern Wisconsin from 1933 to 1941, planting millions of trees, building roads and bridges, and restoring natural resources throughout the region — including the forests surrounding Lake Julia.
1956
A significant tornado outbreak on April 2–3, 1956 affected the upper Midwest, including portions of northern Wisconsin. Community records from this period are incomplete.
2020
